Travel is a break from your daily life, it's exciting and full of new experiences. The adventure of seeing new places, meeting new people, the food and drink experiences, having a go at trying to speak a different language and having new experiences is exciting. But as exciting as it sounds holidays take a lot of planning, and I have found quite a few people I speak to feel that they are not capable of planning a multi-destination trip without involving travel agents and get put off by how much they think it will cost them. I hope to inspire you that with good planning you can have an exciting trip and you can control the cost too.
I have pondered doing a blog for a while, but following our recent trip and having friends use our itinerary and tips made me take the plunge in the hope what I have a to share will help others plan their own exciting trips.
We left the UK to move to Perth, Western Australia in 2008. Living in the UK you are not too far away from Europe or America, but when you move to Western Australia you are a lot further away. You can't take a weekend break in Europe from Perth. When we plan holidays from Perth in Europe you have to go for at least 3 weeks or more because of how long the flight is and how much they cost. We still work full-time so we don't we can't take months off work, our holidays are usually for around 4 weeks.
The benefits of living in Australia are the great beaches, the amount of sunshine we have and a great outdoor lifestyle. We no longer travel for sunny, relaxing beach holidays we prefer to go exploring European cities and have tried skiing too.
Our children are grown up and don't want to travel with us which gives us total freedom to go where we want and do what we want.
I feel a lot of satisfaction when I have planned our trips as my hubby thinks I over research, but when we actually go away he appreciates that the detailed planning paid off.
